Andy graduated in 1990 and began his career at Arup before moving to Alan Baxter and Associates. Here he worked on a range of projects including many complex refurbishments and innovative new buildings.
Andy joined Elliott Wood Partnership in 1996 where he continued to work on a wide variety of projects from small bespoke houses to multi-million pound developments. His passion lies in finding simple elegant solutions to often highly complex problems with projects including various sculptures with a range of artists such as Antony Gormley. He has also completed many cutting edge modern style houses including the innovative Paxton Locher Houses and Manser Houses.
Retail experience includes ambitious projects for Sketch Restaurant in Mayfair and the Pitcher and Piano chain of bars. Andy has also lead the team on the design of Armani's Flagship store in Manchester with FD Architecture.
Andy continues to work at the leading edge of his field, using competitions and a teaching role to develop new thoughts and ideas. Successful competitions have included The Mersey Observatory and Bexhill pavilions, both won in collaboration with Duggan Morris Architects. Andy regularly gives talks to other professionals on engineering topics and also teaches at the Architectural Association.
