The civils design entails the integration of surface water run off utilising SuDS techniques along with a central water storage feature to control run off to the adjoining public service. This water feature takes the form of a mock canal as it lies on the route of the disused Surrey Docks Canal.
The main access roads within the site are designed to adoptable standards, but with an emphasis on user friendly design and use of quality materials to soften imprint on the surroundings.
Rainwater recycling with water provided from roof collection is an integral part of the drainage scheme. Due to the large nature of the development, detailed negotiations with Thames Water form an important part of the design process.
