BIM Awards

Elliott Wood were finalists at this years BIM Show Live Awards.

We achieved this accolade through our long history and understanding of BIM. Our application highlighted our approach to BIM and provided evidence through projects and construction work that we have been involved in, including our innovative solutions to difficult problems and what we are doing differently.

We utilise BIM because it adds value to our design. It not only enables us to have a far greater understanding of the project, enabling us to provide a better design solution, but it also allows others to understand the design better.

We have been using BIM for over a decade, realising the potential benefits early on, investing in training and software including Autodesk Revit, eight years prior to the Governments 2016 BIM Level 2 mandate.

As a leader in this field, our depth of knowledge covers all facets of BIM, from simple geometric visualisation to enhanced asset management. Our BIM Manager, Steve Faulkner, chairs the Industry BIM4sme Group and is also part UK BIM Alliance Leadership Team and a member of the Institute of Structural Engineers BIM Panel. These direct links allow us to remain at the forefront of BIM development and our straightforward approach maximises the benefits BIM offers.

We harmonise geometric coordination and visualisation with embedded Meta Data (intelligent information related to model elements), and input these into our models. This level of detail allows a greater understanding between design team members whilst also reducing risk and waste, and giving a greater cost certainty with faster programme times.
