Event: The Glyndebourne Pavilion – Latest

Event: The Glyndebourne Pavilion

Join us next Thursday 15 April at 5.30pm as we explain the thinking and design behind our Glyndebourne Pavilion project. The Pavilion is a new sustainable events space for the Glyndeborne opera house estate, due to start construction this autumn.

We've been working with BakerBrown to design the pavilion using novel sustainable local materials, including structural glulam from salvaged Ash, cladding made from discarded champagne corks from the opera festival goers, mycelium insulation grown in shipping containers on site, and wall tiles from waste oyster and lobster shells.

The structure has also been designed for disassembly and reuse of materials, and we've been exploring the use of material passports to enable encourage the reuse of structural elements.

Join our speakers from the project team, Mark Goodbrand and Sophie Collier, on Thursday 15 April at 5.30pm. The event is being hosted by our coworking space, The Building Society.
