Gary Elliott interviewed for WPA NextGen's new podcast – Latest

The Westminster Property Association’s NextGen have launched a new podcast mini-series exploring the role of development and design in creating a sustainable, zero carbon Westminster. Building on the findings of last year's Zero Carbon Westminster report, the series unpicks some of the key challenges and innovations the property sector must contend with if it is to achieve Westminster City Council's ambitions to become a carbon neutral council by 2030 and a net zero carbon City by 2040.

In the series' first interview, Caroline Haines (WPA NextGen Committee Member and Development Manager at Derwent London) is joined by Gary Elliott to discuss key considerations when designing to achieve net zero carbon. The episode explores the definitions of 'net zero', 'embodied' and 'operational' carbon, and challenges associated with off-setting, material reuse and historic buildings.
