Marmalade Lane receives two awards from The Cambridge Forum for Construction Industry

This month our project, Marmalade Lane, received two awards from The Cambridge Forum for Construction Industry.

The project won ‘Best New Building – Large (over £2m)’ and received a commendation in the Sustainability & Engineering category.

‘The judges praised Marmalade Lane as an exemplar of thoughtful design with sustainable communities at the heart of the project. The project is a shining example of delivering high design quality alongside high thermal performance of the fabric using modular construction methods.’

Marmalade Lane is a collective custom build development in Cambridge, and the town’s first cohousing community. It is also an excellent example of the benefits of collaborative use of factory-based timber construction.

We worked closely with MOLE Architects and Trivselhus to deliver the 42 new homes. The scheme’s construction is fully prefabricated with a Swedish closed panel timber frame used for the new homes, and a cross laminated timber frame for the apartment block and common house.
