RIBA National Award Winners! – Latest
We are thrilled to announce that Bushey Cemetery has now won not only a RIBA East Award but also a RIBA National Award!
Working alongside Waugh Thistleton Architects and landscape architects JC Gibbons, a new cemetery for United Synagogues was created, situated within the heart on London’s greenbelt in Bushey.
Elliott Wood worked closely with the architects and rammed earth specialists to provide a robust solution that delivers the ambitious 7.0m high structures with simple, elegant detailing. The project was delivered in two phases, the initial enabling works phase involved the installation of the major civil engineering and landscaping works; involving a series of swales, weirs and ponds to help maintain natural drainage on the site and provide new habitats for wildlife. The second phase saw the construction of the prayer halls and associated buildings.
