Rotherhithe Bridge receives Commendation at the AR MIPIM Future Projects Awards – Latest
We are delighted to have been awarded a commendation in the AR MIPIM Future Projects Awards for Rotherhithe Bridge in the Big Urban Projects Category. The category attracted impressive entries from around the world, including India, USA, Malaysia & China. Rotherhithe Bridge beat a number of significant schemes including Foster & Partners’ proposal for Mexico City New International Airport, and MHN Design Union’s International Trading Zone scheme in Suzhou, China.
Rotherhithe Bridge is a proposed concept design produced in collaboration between reForm Architects and Elliott Wood. The study commissioned by cycling charity Sustrans was to determine the feasibility of a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Thames between Canary Wharf and Rotherhithe.
reForm’s Managing Director, Nik Randall commented, “we are delighted to have won this commendation. With so many great entries it’s a wonderful achievement by the reForm team and our collaborators, engineers Elliott Wood.”
The judges called the proposal a “remarkable scheme”, and “an impressive contribution to social and physical connectivity.”
