2019 Graduate Recruitment

Each September we take on exceptional graduates to start their supported progression path through their career at Elliott Wood. Our Graduate Development Programme embeds creativity and innovation allowing graduates to apply their skills to our exciting portfolio of structural and civil engineering while receiving quality mentoring from top professionals.

Life at Elliott Wood

The projects we work on are especially diverse, from challenging high-rise structures to art sculptures and installations. Over the past 24 years, we have built a reputation of delivering a high-quality service and exceptional engineering.

Elliott Wood Graduate Scheme

Your Elliott Wood journey beings with our inhouse Graduate School. Graduate School is a great chance for our new cohort to get together at the start of their Elliott Wood journey and build relationships with their peers to help them throughout their career. Director, Andy Downey and colleagues from across the business present a programme of immersive learning covering Elliott Woods’s history, achievements, key projects, learning and development support and our vision and future aspirations. Our graduates contribute to two-way discussions of key topics in the engineering sector and have a chance to do practical tasks, sketching and hearing from previous graduates on their experiences. Graduate school is a key part of welcoming our graduates to the Elliott Wood family and give them a solid understanding of our key values and the unique way in which we engineer.

Elliott Wood has been such a good place to start a career in engineering, the team spirit and values are felt as soon as you join.

Graduates are trusted from an early stage, being involved in most aspects, from design through to project completion.

A main attraction of Elliott Wood was the variety, from hand sketches to site visits and external meetings, the range of tasks and initiatives you get involved in allow a great deal of variety and a great educational tool.

Learning and Development

The Elliott Wood Academy is the foundation for developing professionals in our industry to be industry ready for today, tomorrow and the future. We support engineers throughout their careers through our various programmes. We encourage graduates to join one of the Elliott Wood Training Schemes which support employees to become chartered and are designed to lead towards the acquisition and development of the special skills and attributes needed to practise as a professional.

“The thing I enjoy the most about working at Elliott Wood is that you get an opportunity to be involved in variety of projects from private house extensions to multi-storey tower blocks. There is excellent internal support for graduates and is complemented by internal Academy training sessions to help bridge gap between university and the industry. Moreover, I have also been assigned a mentor and have regular meetings to review my progress towards becoming chartered with the IStructE.”
