Elliott Wood Graduate Programme 2021 – Careers
Disciplines: Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering
Location: Flexible (London/Wimbledon with some remote working)
Starting your Engineering career today:
Today, we find ourselves living in a world where the nature and rate of change encompasses everything we do. Some of this change is good, but a lot is bad in terms of creating social, economic and environmental problems that are damaging every aspect of life.
At Elliott Wood we are asking difficult questions: What kind of place do you want to live in? Can you begin to tackle the climate emergency? Will you be more socially aware and create fairer economic outlooks for everybody? What will be your engineering legacy?
To help us change our habits we have created a platform to help us face the challenge and create solutions. It is called ETHICS – Education, Technology, Health, Infrastructure, Culture and Sustainability. By understanding these metrics, we will become better Engineers. This will help us to Engineer a Better Society.
The journey is going to be a little different to what you may expect from an Engineering consultancy. This is because it needs to be. Much of what can be achieved sits within the hands of civil and structural engineers. The opportunity is enormous, and the clock is ticking.
Our Graduate Programme:
Our graduate programme is all about taking the knowledge and skills from your learning to date and enhancing and complementing with new. Using ETHICS as the framework, you will get a better understanding of the social and economic challenges society faces. It is about reimagining engineering entrepreneurship. It is no longer simply a case of confirming the length and size of things, although we have to do that too! Through our learning Academy and innovative workspace, The Building Society, there will be huge opportunities to explore the full breadth of Civil and Structural engineering. Our Professional bodies are also changing and your route to chartership will change, incorporating heightened social and sustainable agendas.
We are looking for creative, ambitious and resourceful people with enquiring minds and the desire to develop and progress as part of our team. You will have the ability to research, analyse and compute but also write, draw and tell a story. We also ask for an engineering degree. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please provide a short cover letter to explain why you should join our team of engineering disruptors, together with a CV to us at email@example.com.
- We are accepting applications up until 6pm on Friday 11th June 2021
- Telephone screening will take place from 7th June 2021 onwards
- Interviews will be held on 24th June 2021, at The Building Society
- The start date for all new graduates with Elliott Wood will be September/October 2021, although start dates are yet to be confirmed
We look forward to hearing from you!
