BCO Award Winner 2016 – Cannon Place – Latest

Cannon Place has won a prestigious BCO Award for Fit-Out of Workplace 2016 (London and South-East region).

Located in the City of London directly above Cannon Street mainline and underground stations, the 8 storey building designed by Foggo Associates Architects, is virtually column free with long span floor beams 23.5metres long and a distinctive external structural skeleton.

The works involved full CAT A/B fit-out, including two large feature staircases linking the three floor plates, of which are almost 50,000 square feet. Elliott Wood provided a full structural engineering design service, including gaining approvals from Network Rail and the building’s owners.

Due to the location, access for construction was particularly challenging with no provision for large items to be delivered into the building. To overcome this Elliott Wood developed and agreed a gantry type solution with Network Rail, the building owners and the City of London. A detailed REVIT model was also developed by Elliott Wood to facilitate the process and allow full services integration to be explored prior to commencing on site.

This win is another proud achievement, especially given the level of competition this year, and highlights the fantastic projects we are working on.
