SwiMIPIM 2024 raises £8,600 for homelessness

On Wednesday 13 March, SwiMIPIM, our charity swim event, returned for its third edition. The annual event is a collaboration with our friends at dMFK Architects.

This year, twenty brave swimmers from across the built environment donned their wetsuits and plunged into the fresh Cannes sea during MIPIM 2024. Participants then completed a challenging 1km or a more gruelling 2km loop in the open water.

Among the swimmers were Mark Goodbrand and Jennifer Camilletti, representing Elliott Wood. Together, they raised over £1000 with the generous support of their industry colleagues and friends.

Not just an opportunity for connection and personal challenge, the event was also in support of a great cause, Streets of London. It raised funds and awareness for their support of Londoners facing homelessness. The funds raised from SwiMIPIM 2024 will help fund their vital projects including Street Outreach and creating Rough Sleepers’ Spaces.

Ian Featherington, Chief Executive of Streets of London, said, "We're incredibly grateful to Elliott Wood Partnership and dMFK Architects for their generous support to Streets of London. By hosting the successful SwiMIPIM event in Cannes, they have significantly contributed to our cause. The fundraising efforts of everyone who participated have raised a fantastic total of £8,000+, which will greatly help people experiencing homelessness in the capital.”

A special thank you to Sea First for keeping our swimmers safe, Katie Tobin of Always Thinking for supporting on the day, and of course, all our wonderful swimmers and fundraisers.
