The works on this private house in North London included the refurbishment of an existing Victorian building and the construction of a striking new extension.
The refurbishment of the original building blends contemporary design with the original ‘Arts and Crafts’ style. The new extension utilises an innovative stressed skin steel roof to achieve cantilevers up to 9m with a depth of only 300mm. Sufficient stiffness is provided to allow all support to be from internal columns, giving the structure free, fully glazed façades.
