Corner House, London – Projects

This new landmark building is located in London’s Fitzrovia. Predominantly providing new high-end private residential space the building also has ground floor affordable units and a double height commercial space at ground and basement levels. Constructed with a flat slab reinforced concrete frame to provide minimal structural zones and flexible unit layouts, the building has seven-storeys including basement and penthouse.

The development involved the demolition of all existing buildings on a highly constrained site along with the deepening of the existing basement to allow for both level street access from the new ground floor and a viable commercial space within the basement.

The facade is highly crafted from finely detailed brickwork with deep profiled exposed reveals. Working closely with the rest of the design team, a self-supporting brick facade solution with discreet brick-faced profiled pre-cast concrete lintels was developed to ensure a minimum number of movement joints with buildability a key consideration to ensure a high quality finish.
