Elstree Golf and Country Club, Radlett – Projects

Elstree Golf and Country Club,
Radlett

This new club house for Elstree Golf Club provides entertainment, dining, social and changing facilities for the golf club members. There is also an area allocated for future expansion of a pro shop and associated offices. The new club house provides expansive views over the 18th green, the first tee and the golf course beyond, the existing driving range is also to be upgraded and improved.

The building has been constructed from a two-storey structural steel frame with an insitu concrete floor slab poured onto profiled structural steel decking. This structure is supported on bored cast insitu reinforced concrete piles founded in the natural occurring soils. The roof of the building is framed up from structural steel rafters and purlins with copper roof finishes. A particular feature of the project is an architectural timber ceiling that is located over the social area and cantilevers out over the observation deck. Access to the club house is via two structural steel and timber bridges and the walls of the building are clad with a combination of glass, timber and brick.
