The Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton Upon Trent was extensively refurbished and extended, in a £5m project which has completely transformed the complex. The new Centre will provide enhanced facilities for the local community, in the heart of the town, promoting health & leisure opportunities for all.
The scheme has improved the existing core facilities for swimming, sport fitness and other activities with the provision of new fitness, social and children’s play facilities.
The main entrance is marked by bold copper walling with a full height glazed entrance leading to a new cafeteria, crèche, play area and multi-function rooms. The new function room opens up to a riverside terrace with seating under a cantilevered canopy. The existing six lane pool and learner pool were extensively refurbished and complemented by a new village, group changing facilities plus a new cantilevered viewing balcony with a glass balustrade.
