Princes House, London – Projects

Princes House,
London

Situated centrally in London, overlooking one of London’s prime thoroughfares, the proposals for the refurbishment at Princes House were an exciting opportunity to repurpose an existing 1920’s office building to provide high end residential properties. The existing building was configured for commercial office accommodation and the works involved providing  thirty four serviced apartments and twenty private residential apartments. Also included in the proposal is an allowance for a ground floor retail unit, reception lobby and a basement restaurant.

The existing building consists of a Portland stone fronted nine storey building, which required significant modernisation and alteration to achieve the developer’s vision. Structurally, the central core of the building  was relocated to allow for additional lift capacity, and the lightwells to the north and south of the existing building were extended to create additional internal floor space.

The feature of the development is the two storey penthouse and its accompanying roof terrace, which provides views to the west over Covent Garden and the West End.
